How To Position Yourself In Your Industry As An Authority

Back in 2005 I started to notice certain big time marketers where not following the general marketplace and doing the complete opposite. That is when it dawned on me…”I should be creating my own path and not try to create the same products as everyone else.”

So I did and I’ve never looked back since, so in keeping with my philosophy of paying it forward here are a few things to consider that will help you rise above the cream.

here’s a little sequence to help you and anyone else who cares. there a couple of sequences I use depending on my niches.

the sequence is complex and simple all at once.

1. I survey my leads after providing them 3 emails of premiere content while I’m positioning myself as the authority in nice way and I always ask for feedback i.e. “Hit reply back to me if you have questions I’ll personally reply”

That technique works like gangbusters to build re pore I taught that one strategy to a few peeps and it put tens of thousands in their pockets.

heck I even talked about it 3 years ago at one event that I spoke at

step 2. I drop a very detailed and psychological survey 5 to 7 questions which lead people down the path I want them to go which gives me great intel on them and they are segmented accordingly.

I never give them more than 7 questions, the human brain loses interest and gets confused if you ask too many questions. I need people to stay on track.

Step 3. reward the actions of survey taking (this is a bit ninja so I have to leave this out)

step 4. after segmenting, its back to more specific authority and positioning relationship building and I never give it up from there.

I don’t promote other stuff to my peeps its my circle that they enter. Sure they will buy from other people I can’t stop that, but it wont’ be my hand that drives them to other offers.

Huge psychological distinction there

You devalue your positioning and authority by telling your highly targeted and segmented database…”this is a fantastic product I highly recommend it.” after about 3 or 4 times of doing that you will start to get shut out.

Its like…”Dude you just told me last month that this was the greatest product since sliced bread and you trust these guys to? damn how many guys and girls do you trust in this market?”

I particularly love that last line in email copy when I see marketers use it…”I completely trust these guys, I use their products in my business, you should to.” lol

step 5. I start a content sequence for each segmented database that turns into a promotional sequence specifically for what they asked for and nothing else, I don’t mail them on anything other that what they “Want and Desire”

bottom line you give your people what they want, outsource it or create it yourself and it is you giving them the solution.

Step 6. Provide the deliverable, collect the income, give solid support, repeat the process and put it on autopilot as best you can with a few tweaks in the process funnel.

That is what I do, now of course I’ve left out a couple of ninja techniques and nuances that I simply will not give away until you are a client which I think is fair, but hey you get the overall gist of how to crank out more than $10K – $15K a month with a targeted database.

Shit I do more than that every month but that’s beside the point.
